Maximise your potential

The other day I made a couple of orders from Simply Be. Inspired by the lovely Hanna and Becky I wanted to invest in a cropped denim jacket. I also thought as the weather was perking up I would get a flowery maxi skirt.

This is how they look on me....

Please excuse the squinting!I have to say I am not feeling this outfit AT ALL! Nothing wrong with the quality or anything like that, it is me. Firstly the cropped jacket does nothing for me, being a bigger busted girl it just doesn't hang right at all. Secondly the maxi skirt wasn't long enough for me. I like my maxi skirt to be long (yes I know this sounds obvious) but anything above the ankle, to me feels a bit wrong. So unfortunately these items will be going back.
Never fear though, I took advantage of the 10% discount Simply Be offered yesterday and ordered a few bits AND today they are offering 20% off on the Joe Browns range, so I have ordered the denim jacket (not cropped) that I originally had my heart set on. The code is LLUX4 but I have no idea how long it lasts for. Did you take advantage of the leap year discounts and offers that did the rounds yesterday? x

  1. I am forever cursing Maxi skirts that just aren't maxi and I end up with them either flashing my ankles or my backside as I've pulled them down so much :)

I can't stop buying clothes of late - I did take advantage of an ASOS offer yesterday, but I am in danger of bankrupting myself if I keep spending!

I might just take a look at Simply Be though...

  2. Like I already tweeted you, I think the jacket looks cute! But you're right about maxis, they should be MAXIs. That's why I (with my huge belly and short legs) go for regular sizes in models that are made for.. models? LOL, meaning that they're so long that there's enough fabric for my belly, but it will still be LONG. (I'm talking about the maxi dress from my post that I just published by the way.) I'm yet to find a maxi skirt though, my body is so weirdly shaped that I can't get them to sit anywhere right :(.

But YAY, you got the Joe Brown's jacket that you wanted! Can't wait to see you in it :)

  3. I think you look cute! But I hear ya...maxi skirts can be so difficult to find..the perfect one I mean. Been looking for ages but it`s always too short or just summin doesn`t sit right. I want a skirt that`s so long I keep tripping over it. XD Cropped jackets are difficult for me too coz of the boobage. Takes a special one to fit just right.
Anyhoops, looking forward to seeing what u found at SimplyBe ^^d MMxoxo

  4. I'm so glad you are in agreement ladies about the length of maxi dresses/skirts. I have a maxi dress I wore yesterday and it so long I'm literally stepping on it as i go upstairs but I love it - the length is perfect and yes you guessed it IS Inspire (last summer) lol. xXx

  5. Hopefully your next order is a success! I dislike maxi skirts, one because my top is ridiculously bigger than my bottom half so I look like a giant tube & two because I'm so tall they're not even ankle grazers, they're calf skimmers!

    1. haha - hopefully one day you'll find the perfect maxi but I'm afriad for a tall girl they seem few and far between - and I'm not even that tall so feel your pain. xXx
