Bring On The Dancing Horses

Wow, so we are finally at 31st December. Where has the year gone? I'm so glad to have finally started my blogging and I'm really looking forward to future blogs. There are already some gorgeous items that I want to purchase and have many ideas for new blogs in 2012. However, I must add I am not big on this 'big changes' 'out with the old' that some people harp on about when it comes to New Years. For me personally I think you can make changes to your life at any point you want - you don't need a silly date to tell you and it shouldn't be just restricted to 1st January. You should see everyday as a new chapter and a fresh start...
The other half and I have no plans to go out tonight as we have a three year old daughter and it's pretty hard to get a sitter, also she is such an early bird we'd be back home by 10.30pm. It  doesn't bother me, I'd much rather stay in with a drink and take-away and watch Jools Holland. For today's post I did want to show you my OOTD (even if I am in my pjs by midnight)!
Please excuse my water-logged roof terrace, I must find some half-decent places to take my pics!
My top is Anna Scholz at Simply Be. I got this in the sale at the beginning of November and I have literally worn it to death ever since. I LOVE the fact that it isn't too thick and heavy like some jumpers For me personally it isn't an appropriate length to wear just with tights like the model in the catalogue pic.

so I wear mine with black jeans (New Look sale for £10) and today I wore them with my new animal print ballet pumps from New Look. The jumper is now only avaliable in sizes 18 and 32 on the Simply Be website and I know some bloggers had it on their wishlist so it has obviously proved to be a very popular item. I for one am really looking forward to seeing what Spring/Summer  has in store for Anna Scholz/Simply Be, don't know about you?
Well readers, hope you have a enjoyable and safe evening whatever you are doing and wherever you may be going.  xXx

One swallow does not a summer make

So this is my third blog and I know, it is quality over quantity but I have been wanting to do this for ages. I guess it's like those pringle crisps...once you pop you can't stop!
Anyway, I have been excited about the swallow print dress since I first spotted it on the New Look website. It currently retails at £24.99 and comes in two different colours. It is very quickly selling out on the New Look website so if you have a decent New Look store with the Inspire range I suggest heading there which is exactly what I did.
I am wearing the dress with my winter boots from Simply Be and Joe Browns (Again Simply Be) lace trim leggings. Although this is sold as a 'dress' I consider it more of a tunic but maybe that's just me... Anyway, I'm really loving it and so glad that I picked it up. I wouldn't ordinarily go for something with such a high neck either as I am quite big-busted but I think it is still pretty flattering.
So what are you all thinking about the swallow print look? Are there any swallow-print items you fancy purchasing? I also have this item too, from Simply Be, hopefully I'll blog about that soon..

If the shoe fits

So my mum and dad gave me an unexpected treat of a £100 voucher card for New Look. I am a pretty big fan of not only the Inspire Range but I also love the accessories - rings, bags, corsages and shoes.
I had a pair of  animal print ballet pumps from Primark a while back which I lived and died in (literally) but like most clothing and shoes I love, I wear to the bitter end. Anyway , I saw this pair of animal print shoes in New Look and had to have.

I love the way they are elasticated at the back (can't really tell from my pic) so they feel lovely and secure. I also love the beading and the bows. I'd probably wear these bad boys with quite a plain outfit, black top and jeans and let the shoes be the main feature but if you have any other suggestions as to what they would look good with, please let me know. x

And so it begins...

So this is my first ever post on my blog and if you are taking the time to read this I'd like to thank you.
It was earlier this year that I discovered there was such a thing as 'fatshion blogging' and I immediatly became hooked. Finally I realised there were people out there like me who wanted to show the world that just because we were big it didn't mean we wanted to blend in the background in dark clothes, hair scrapped back and no make-up.
You see that was me, and even now somedays it still is. The truth is that I want to get out of that rut and I want to look nice because it makes me feel better. So recently I have been looking on the web, reading blogs and taking more interest in fashion mags. I don't know if I particularly follow trends but I know what I like and usually have an idea what will suit me. So here goes:

Places to Shop: Simply Be, New Look Inspire, Evans, Asos Curve, Very, Yours Clothing.
Insprational Blogs: Too Many Sequins, Cupcakes Clothes, Sugar & Spice, Messy Carla, What Laura Loves and so many more.....
Things I love: flat shoes, bubble baths, bags, corsages, make-up, when my hair behaves,
Thngs I dislike (on me): polo neck jumpers, high heels,

I hope to start posting about my purchases soon as I have some lovely new items that I'd like to share with you. In the meantime enjoy what is left of the Christmas break. X
