Granny Chic?

So attendees on Pluslondon2 got a lovely 25% discount code for Evans, in addition the website were recently offering 15% off new items. So I ended up ordering this tunic:

Anyone who knows me knows I am partial to a bit of bird-print. Although this would usually be very far out of my price range for a top, with the discount it was a bit more affordable. As I've been trying to lose weight I thought I'd go for a size 24 as I'd been able to wear a 24 comfortably in New Look recently.

When the tunic arrived I tried it on straight away but found it was not the best fit, in fact I would say it boarded on a 22 more than a 24. I just don't think it looks fabulous on me at all but I thought I'd take some photos for you lovelies to see what I mean.

Also what is going on around the neck? - It just doesn't seem to lay right. Probably on account of it being too small. So I guess this is going back - not sure whether to get a refund or exchange for something else... what do you lovely followers think? xXx

  1. I think it looks lovely otherwise, but that neck area is definitely weird :(. I'd get a refund and buy that leopard print dress from NL that you've been talking about ;)

  2. I would try to exchange it for another one, to see if it is a better fit - I love the print and the colour on you.

    1. Thank you Kathryn, think I'd have to size up x2. I think I'm gonna go to a store, see what they have and if theres nothing I like then I'll just get the money back and head to New Look instead. My nearest Evans is Clapham and the stock in there is pretty dire #officewear xXx

Lovely print and definately colourwise etc would be purfect for you. ^^d Noticed the weird neckline too. o.O
It would be so lovely with a wider, more open cut.
Hope you can get another size or find something else as luvly at least. ^^d Have a great weekend luv! <3

  4. I always go up 1 or 2 sizes in Evans - things are never what they should be! It looks ok but it would be better in a bigger size. I agree with Hanna go and get the leopard print dress!

    1. I'm just figuring this out I think Claire. The thing I hate is the dual sizing that they do on some items. Never understood that... xXx

  5. I really do love the print, but agree the size is all wrong....

I hate the dual sizing thing too as am smaller on top and larger on bottom, so occassionally have ended up in a 30-32 on bottom because the cut's tight on said bottoms...but then often I'll try a 26-28 and it will be too big and the 22-24 too small. Cant win!

I must say that New Look isnt fairing any better for me atm...I've lost a little bit of weight, so once again my body seems to be well, a 25 should we say? (yes, know it doesnt exist, hence the problem! ;p)

I'm eagerly awaiting the Clements Ribeiro collaboration they're doing, lets see if sizing and cuts are any better on that!

    1. Sorry my dear, just seen this. I decided to do a little bit of a Evans rant today. Just generally think they are over-priced and not all that. Such a shame but I want them to blow me away. Hopefully they will with the CR collaboration. xXx
