Earn your stripes

Yesterday I  finally pent the last of my christmas vouchers and purchased this from New Look:

The Inspire stripe skater dress for £26.99 which I will be talking about on a new post very soon. But the dress got me thinking that lately I've seen lots of stripe items in new collections for spring/summer so I thought I'd let you in on some of the plus-size stripes I had seen out there:

The only negative I have is that some of these items come across as very plain or safe so what would you ladies suggest wearing with them for that bit of added oomph? Would love to know... xXx

And yes..stripes do seem to be everywhere. ^^
Very popular in Japanese fashion as well.

  2. thank you! The dress has a cute coral belt that really breaks it up. I agree though scarves would look great with a stripey top. I have a star one which hasn't had an airing in a while. x

  3. I'm crazy for a stripe. I love every single one of them. I actually don't think they are safe, especially when fashion "experts" still say they are out of bounds for fatties. I like to wear mine as a big F you to all those experts!

I personally like to "rockabilly" up my stripes with leopard print and turn up skinny jeans!
Great post Hun, the only thing is I now want to buy it all! X

ps. thanks for your comment on my bloggie. ^^v
things really have changed a lot for plus size clothing in japan...mostly in the past 5 years i`d say. i was quite tiny 10 years ago but had trouble finding anything fitting in japan, much less proper plus sizes. now it`s changed drastically and there`s a huge demand for bigger clothes even amongst tiny japoonians so easier to find almost anywhere. ^^d or just have to know where to look. ^^d
...and fluffy is my husband yes. ^^v

  5. Im glad the plus size industry in Japan is getting better. Anyway there were always great bags and jewellery I remember which more than made up for the lack of clothes so Id just restock when I went home. xXx
Mrs Bebe - I am loving your look and you are right about the stripes being made to be a negative for plus sizes but they can actually look really good and I think the cut on clothing is much more important that the pattern. xXx
